What can I expect on my first appointment?
Be prepared for your first appointment to last 45 minutes. We will initially want to talk to you about your pain or problem and we will ask you relevant questions about your health. It will be helpful for you to bring any information you feel that may be relevant to your problem such as x-ray or scan reports and medications lists. You will also be asked questions about your home, family, work and lifestyle so that we can establish any physical demands on you in your day-to-day life.
Following the examination, we will discuss with you our findings and our give you our professional opinion on the diagnosis and treatment or management options. Following treatment on your injury together we will create an action plan that suits your needs.
Can I use my private health insurance for Physiotherapy?
Physio.je is recognised by all major insurance companies. We have contracts with AXA International and BUPA, which enable us to bill them directly on your behalf. Please note you must have a valid membership and authorisation code prior to your appointment. For all other insurance companies, we ask that you pay for your treatment on the day that you attend. You will then be given a receipt to reclaim from your insurance provider. All our Physiotherapists are members of the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC)
What should I wear?
We will want to do an assessment, so please be prepared and bring appropriate clothing such as shorts or a vest top or other comfortable clothing.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
We do receive Doctor’s referrals, but it is not requirement. You can simply book yourself in by phoning to speak with us or booking online.
Are your Physiotherapists regulated by the Health and Care Practitioners Council?
Yes, all our physiotherapists are regulated and members of the Health and Care Practitioners Council (HCPC). Giving you the utmost confidence in our professionalism.
How are my rights and privacy protected?
Your rights:
Your confidentiality is of upmost importance. From time to time, it may be necessary and appropriate to liaise with other medical practitioners. This would be discussed with you first. Please feel free to have a support person with you for assessment / treatment. For further information see www.csp.org.uk
Your Privacy:
Physio.je is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005. We are compliant with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and we are registered and compliant with ICO (information Commissioner’s Office).
Physio.je is a data controller. This means we decide how your personal data is processed and for what purposes. Any staff /associates /contractors that are based at Performance Physiotherapy Ltd are Data Processors. To view our updated privacy policy please see link here.

I did not receive my exercises?
Please allow 24 hours for your exercises and plan to be sent. If you did not receive your exercises. Please check your junk e-mail, searching for Physiapp rather than our company name. If you’re still having problems, please phone our administration team and they can send through the details.
Why have I not improved in the first week?
Injuries can improve at different rates. Some injuries will show little progress until 2-4 weeks. Your Physio will guide you through expected times for improvement.
