Pregnancy & Postnatal
Holistic Care During Pregnancy
Pain Relief
- Pregnancy can bring about discomforts like back pain and pelvic girdle pain. Physiotherapists use gentle exercises and manual therapy to alleviate these issues, helping you stay active and comfortable.
Postural Guidance
- As your body changes, maintaining good posture becomes crucial. Physiotherapists provide personalised advice to help you adjust and reduce strain.
Pelvic Floor Strengthening
- Strong pelvic floor muscles are vital for supporting your bladder, bowel, and uterus. Physiotherapists teach effective exercises to keep these muscles strong.
Breathing Techniques
- Learning proper breathing techniques can aid in relaxation and pain management during labour, making the experience smoother and more manageable.

The Postnatal MOT
Whether you’ve had a vaginal delivery or a C-section, we offer tailored exercises to aid in your recovery, ensuring you regain strength safely.
After pregnancy more than half of women may still experience weakness in their abdominals, or still have a separation of their abdominal muscles (known as diastasis recti). More than half of women will also have a pelvic floor dysfunction: incontinence of the bladder or bowel; prolapse; sexual dysfunction. These conditions are not something you should have to endure because of childbirth. Targeted physiotherapy assessments and treatments have been scientifically proven to alleviate these issues and reduce risk of worsening as you age.
It is advisable for women to have an initial assessment 6-8 weeks postnatally. However, we also provide treatment for women who gave birth years ago and may still be experiencing
a tummy gap or related pelvic floor issues.
Postnatal treatments include:
- Posture Evaluation and Corrective Exercises
- Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
- Core Strengthening
- Scar Management
Embrace the changes with confidence, knowing that with the right support, you can navigate this beautiful journey with ease and joy.
