Alexandra Frankham

Physiotherapist + Pelvic Health Specialist MHPrac, PGcert, BSc (Hons), MHCPC, MCSP

Raised in Jersey, Alexandra Frankham has worked in the field of musculoskeletal, obstetric and urogynaecology physiotherapy since 2005, within both public and private enterprises, including working as a qualified pilates instructor (DMA Pilates, Australia). Alexandra currently works both privately and for the States of Jersey, assisting women to recover after childbirth. Alexandra graduated from the University of Southampton in 2003, worked in Wales, and furthered her physiotherapy experience in the southern hemisphere where she gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Continence and Pelvic floor Rehabilitation from the University of Melbourne, Australia, a Postgraduate Certificate in Acupuncture from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and a Masters of Health Practice from the Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand.

Paul Frankham Profile Picture

Paul Frankham

Director + Physiotherapist BHSC (Physiotherapy) PGDHSc (Musculoskeletal Physio)

Paul Frankham hails from Auckland, New Zealand. After graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree from the Auckland University of Technology, he worked at one of the country’s busiest sports physiotherapy clinics in the South Island of New Zealand, primarily treating ski and snowboard-related injuries. After specialising in the field he became a physiotherapist for the men’s US Ski Team’s Alpine World Cup team, travelling in Europe and abroad with the team for three years. In 2013, Paul began his postgraduate university studies and graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (musculoskeletal physiotherapy). Paul has over 11 years of experience working in private practice physiotherapy and with elite sports teams, and continues to work closely with the US Ski Team. In 2014 he travelled as physio with Team USA to the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Alena Zakharova Profile Picture

Alena Zakharova

Pelvic Health Physiotherapist BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy

Alena is a Physiotherapist with a passion for women’s and pelvic health. She graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, where she completed rotations at the Maternity and Gynaecological Unit of one of Norway’s largest hospitals. Notably, Norway is renowned for groundbreaking research in Pelvic Health. Continuing her specialisation, Alena completed postgraduate courses in Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy through the UK-based Professional Network of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. She gained valuable experience working in a private obstetric clinic in Bergen, collaborating with chiropractors, a midwife, and a breastfeeding counsellor. Beyond her clinical work, Alena is a seasoned Yoga and Pilates instructor, having taught since 2009. She believes that freedom of movement, combined with mental health care, is crucial for overall well-being. Alena brings her skills and enthusiasm to serve the local community and her passion for travel, islands, and the sea makes Jersey an ideal new home.

Ben  Smith Profile Picture

Ben Smith

Physiotherapist BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy

Born and raised in Jersey, Ben graduated from University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE) with a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy in 2022. Having graduated, Ben joined the University Hospitals of Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW), working in the busy regional Bristol Royal Infirmary Hospital, completing rotations in Critical Care and Cardiac surgery, Neuro General Medicine before working within the Musculoskeletal speciality. As an active sportsman, playing rugby and football amongst others, Ben discovered his passion for physiotherapy allowing him to combine his love of all sports with sports injury management and rehabilitation. Ben is dedicated to fostering a supportive and compassionate environment for his patients and empowering them to take an active role in their healing process to regain control over their own health and well-being. In time, Ben has aspirations to further continue his postgraduate development to oversee the management of rehabilitation for elite athletes. Outside of the practice, Ben enjoys being active, whether that’s in the gym, playing sport, surfing a few waves, or simply enjoying Jersey’s stunning scenery on a long walk.

Nina Wright Profile Picture

Nina Wright

Administrator

Nina Wright is our reception administrator with experience from varied backgrounds. Nina is well travelled with her original working background in the travel industry for many years but moved to the health care industry gaining valuable administration experience in both reception work and becoming a practise manager. She will help with making appointments and really enjoys being meticulously organised, bringing a friendly face and voice to the front desk. Outside of the clinic, Nina is also an inspiring artisan and makes jewellery, evocative of her beach life in Jersey combined with her travel experiences.

Massage Therapist

Siobhain, a dedicated and highly skilled specialist in sports massage and myofascial decompression.
Her remedial massage therapy is meticulously tailored to address specific musculoskeletal issues, with the aim of restoring function, improving mobility, and enhancing overall well-being.
